George Lester Jackson (1941–1971) was an incarcerated writer, a leading thinker of the prison movement, and a defining political-prisoner figure of the Black liberation era. During 14 years of imprisonment, he emerged as a seminal voice in Black Power and Black Liberation; his letters were collected in Soledad Brother, an influential work of Black literature and political philosophy.
